A malware infection can take your whole system down. Earlier, viruses were the only threat to your system. But today malware such as Trojan Horses, spyware, adware, worms, etc. can harm the system. If you want to take care of your device then you need to adopt various security measures. The basic and appropriate solution for preventing malware infection is the antivirus. Antivirus programs provide various features to keep your system fully protected from threats.
When you install anti-malware on the system; it scans the computer at run-time. When it finds any malware; antivirus notifies the user and then removes the threat from the system. Anti-malware ensures that the system is protected from all threats. But sometimes; the user didn’t want to see the malware notification. While working on the system; regular notification may interrupt your job. If you don’t want to get any malware notifications then you can go to your anti-malware settings and mute them.
- Open the dashboard of your anti-malware
- Go to the settings page
- Click on the Applications tab
- Tap on the Notification tab
- Toggle your button to Off
Tap the OK button and it will block Malwarebytes popups on your system. Whenever the new threat detects; your antivirus will detect and remove it from the system silently.
Disabling update notification
Your antivirus provides regular updates for keeping the interface aware of the new threats. When the new update is available, the antivirus will notify the user. Whenever you see the update notification; go to your antivirus and then update the setup immediately. But when you don’t want to get update notifications; disable them.
- Open the dashboard of antivirus and tap the settings
- Select the Application tab and go to your Application update
- Click on the Notify Me option and toggle the switch to Off
Now they won’t receive the notification when the update is available. But disabling the option is not appropriate. If your antivirus is not up-to-date; then the anti-malware won’t detect new viruses on the system. If you have disabled the update notification on your antivirus then the user has to check for the update manually. Open the anti-malware program and inspect the update. If the antivirus update is available then install it on your system.
What are fake malware popups? How to disable them?
When you are browsing the net; hackers often send lots of fake pop-ups. You may have seen pop-ups like your system is in danger or you are under virus infection. Cybercriminals send these kinds of pop-ups to the users’ systems. Some users get worried and click on the pop-ups. The moment the user clicks on the pop-up; malware enters the system. Hackers use this trick to get your data. Malware enters the system and then it can monitor your activities and steal your crucial information. You should not click any pop-ups on the web. If you want to keep the system secure; always use various security measures while accessing the internet.
Use secure browsing feature
Some security programs offer a secure browsing tool. When you access the web; the secure browsing feature checks all the links. It restricts all fake pop-ups on your browser. The firewall blocks hackers from entering the system. When the user clicks on the pop-up mistakenly; the secure browsing tool checks it for malware. If the pop-up is malicious; it blocks the network. The malware won’t enter the device and can surf the internet securely.
Use VPN on your system
The best way to keep your system secured from hackers is the VPN. When you use the VPN; it keeps your device hidden. Users mostly get fake pop-ups when they are accessing an unreliable network. When hackers are connected to the same network; they send pop-ups like the device is under attack or you have won the smartphone etc. When the user clicks on the pop-up; a hacker can access the system and can steal your information. But when the user connects his device to VPN, hackers won’t be able to find it. It changes the IP address and also creates a secure channel. All the outgoing data will travel through the secure channel so the user can send his data without any hacking concerns.
